ASKED QUESTIONS
You have questions? We have the answers.
Is EV Charging safe?
Yes, if installed properly and in accordance with the national electrical code by an EV charging specialist! If done correctly, it’s as safe as plugging in your cell phone. EV chargers require specialized materials rated to handle the heat generated from charging. If improper materials are used, this can become a fire hazard! Triangle Electric only sends properly trained technicians with EV experience and only uses the highest quality materials.
How can I alleviate my range anxiety fears?
By installing a Level 2 home charger, you can safely and comfortably fully charge your EV overnight to wake up to a fully charged battery with maximum range. It’s like filling up at the gas station overnight.
What happens if my charger stops working?
Triangle Electric can provide support to repair or replace the faulty unit, generally at no cost to the customer.
Is it expensive to charge?
Generally, you can fully charge your EV overnight for less than the cost of a McDonald’s value meal.
Can my house handle an EV charger?
Our trained and licensed technicians will perform a load calculation to determine your capacity for an EV charger. In situations where load calculations do not meet National Electric Code standards, Triangle Electric can install specialized load-shedding devices instead of going through costly service upgrades.

Are there multiple options for charging?
Yes, the most common option is to install a hard-wired charger that offers the fastest in-home charging speeds. Another option would be to install a NEMA charging outlet that accommodates all of today’s plug-in style chargers. These are not quite as fast as hard-wired units but typically meet most charging needs.
Where do I get a charger?
Triangle Electric stocks all of the major brands of chargers, including but not limited to WallBox, ChargePoint, Tesla, Emporia, and JuiceBox. We’ll work with you to determine the best fit for your needs.
How long will the installation take?
Usually under two hours. In scenarios that take longer, we’re usually able to communicate that to you ahead of time, and we’re always glad to work around your schedule.
